That blue star has a small reflection nebula around it,IC 1287.13998640 - This is the constellation of Cassiopeia,with the "W" stars at bottom,framed to include most of the star clusters and nebulas in the constellation. And it's a lot in this part of the Milky Way!13900602 - The amazing area of the southern Milky Way in Carina and Crux, the brightest part of the Milky Way after the galactic core region. At right is the Carina Nebula, with the Southern Pleiades cluster, IC 2602, below it. The Football Cluster, NGC 3532, is at upper left of the Carina Nebula. At centre is the region of Lambda Centauri, with the star cluster NGC 3766, the Pearl Cluster, above the emission nebulosity. At left is the Southern Cross, with the dark Coal Sack at bottom left of the Cross, with thin tendrils extending to the right. Some cows are grazing at left! The top edge of the Moon has a green rim and the bottom edge a red rim, from atmospheric refraction. But it made for a Christmas-coloured Moon ornament on the horizon! At bottom is the loose cluster/asterism CR 140. This is a stack of 6 x 4 minute exposures at f/2.8 with the Sigma 50mm lens and Canon 60Da at ISO 800. I shot this from Coonabarabran, Australia with the constellation straight overhead. I used the iOptron Sky Tracker. Mars is at lower left in Taurus,where it was on March 17,2023.13998451 - A framing of the core of the great Coma-Virgo Galaxy Cluster,with the bright pair of elliptical Messier-catalogue galaxies M84 (right) and M86 (on the left) at upper right anchoring the arc of galaxies called Markarian's Chain. At centre is the giant elliptical M87,famous for its monster black hole. M89,a smaller elliptical,is to the left,and M90,a spiral galaxy,is above it. M58 is at lower left,and the pair of interacting galaxies called the Siamese Twins,NGC 4568,are at bottom left. Dozens of other NGC,IC and PGC galaxies down to 15th magnitude dot the field.13848468 - Sulphur Worker at Kawah Ijen, Java, Indonesia. Kawah Ijen is a volcano with an active crater and acid lake in East Java, Indonesia. It is an unbelievable and unmissable destination for anyone visiting Java or Bali. Not only is the view on the 4km walk up to the craters edge impressive, but what goes on there is mind boggling. Walking down to the bottom of Kwah Ijen (Ijen Crater), hundreds of Indonesian men, many in flipflops, are mining sulphur from the heart of the volcano.
