Over the past decade, the Colombian avocado industry has experienced massive growth, both as a result of general economic development in Colombia, and the increased global demand for so-called superfood products. The geographical and climate conditions in Antioquia (high altitude, no seasonal extremes, high precipitation rate) allow two harvest windows of the Hass avocado variety across the year.
